The Academy Award Nominations for 2010 have been announced. The King’s Speech topped all Oscar contenders with 12 nominations, including for best picture and best actor (Colin Firth as King George VI). The best actor nominees are James Franco in 127 Hours, Jeff Bridges in True Grit, Colin Firth in The King’s Speech, Jesse Eisenberg in The Social Network, and Javier Bardem in Biutiful.
Nominees for best actress are Annette Bening in The Kids Are All Right, Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine, Nicole Kidman in Rabbit Hole, Jennifer Lawrence in Winter’s Bone, and Natalie Portman in Black Swan.
The best supporting actress nominees are Amy Adams in The Fighter, Helena Bonham Carter in The King’s Speech, Melissa Leo in The Fighter, Hailee Steinfeld in True Grit and Jacki Weaver in Animal Kingdom.
The nominees for best supporting actor are Christian Bale in The Fighter, John Hawkes in Winter’s Bone, Mark Ruffalo in The Kids Are All Right, Geoffrey Rush in The King’s Speech and Jeremy Renner in The Town.
The best director Oscar nominees are Tom Hooper for The King’s Speech, David O. Russell for The Fighter, Darren Aronofsky for Black Swan, David Fincher for The Social Network and the Coen Brothers for True Grit.
